What
does it mean to be an actor? How do actors do what they do? How do
they deal with the frustrations and rejections? These are
some of my personal experiences in Los Angeles and beyond. Along the way I'll share what
I've learned.
Some Fun Clips
I'm up for a role in a play and the director asked if there any clips of my stage work online. I've never had anyone ask me that before but could understand it since I'm new to this director and theatre.
In any case, I didn't have any clips online. I'm not a big self promoter (a fatal sin for an actor) and randomly posting clips of myself online seemed self-indulgent. It's also pretty rare that one will have watchable video of a stage production. In a lot of cases, filming a play isn't allowed.
After scouring through some DVDs, I managed to find a couple bits that worked and, thanks to YouTube, they're now out there for the world to see.
It's funny the things that you forget after some time. Watching parts of this production of Taming of the Shrew that I did a few years ago brought back a whole bunch of memories. It was a very enjoyable experience and role, certainly one of my favorite experiences.
