An Actor's Journey

What does it mean to be an actor? How do actors do what they do? How do they deal with the frustrations and rejections? This is the story of my personal experiences in Los Angeles. Along the way I'll share what I've learned.

Hey, I Know a Guy...

It's funny how things go in cycles. Just a few days after seeing and auditioning with a friend from Ten Little Indians, I saw a Comcast commercial featuring a former castmate with Mr. T no less.

Brian and I were in a "Shakespeare in the Park" production around the same time I did Indians. The Comedy of Errors was and remains one of my favorite acting experiences. It reinvigorated me as an actor at a time when I really needed it. It was a production with many challenges but I have nothing but fond memories of it.

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet and email, I was able to connect with Brian and a few days later he told me that he'd just gotten a nice part in a major Jerry Bruckheimer movie. He'll be acting opposite Academy Award-winner Jon Voight.

How cool is that? Anything is possible in this town, you just have to stick with it long enough.
