The philosophy of "whatever you do affects someone else" is important in our home and one that we've tried to teach our daughter. So many times in my own life, I've seen how a simple action by one person can affect another person's mood, day or entire life. It's stunning to know that we all have such incredible power to shape our world -- in either positive or negative ways.

On actor Wil Wheaton's blog, Wil shares that he was recently reminded of a chance meeting and a bit of kindness that he showed a fan while working on Star Trek: The Next Generation. It's a lovely little anecdote that succinctly shows the power of a small act of kindness. You can read about it here.
