Hip & Urban Rice Snacks
I was originally scheduled to have play rehearsal tonight but it was cancelled because the director had a last minute conflict.
Lucky for me because my agent called me mid-morning with a national commercial audition for the late afternoon in LA. It was for "Quaker Rice Snacks" and I auditioned for the part of a "hip and upscale urban shopper" ala Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills. Not quite sure how the product relates to that but it doesn't really matter.
The audition was simple improv and since there was no dialogue, I'm sure it will depend mostly on having just the right "look."
In some ways those types of auditions are frustrating because you never know exactly what they're looking for. "If I'd worn a different shirt, would that have done it?" But in other ways, they're quite freeing. You're either what they're looking for or your not. No second (drive yourself crazy) guessing about your reading. Just let it go and move on to the next.
