Audition Bravery
"I wish that actors came in with their second reading first. There's no time to get that first reading out of the way and get to the braver choices. That first reading is so often soft and so-called natural, but often there is not enough there to compel me to listen."
-- Paul Weber, Casting Director for TV series like Stargate: Atlantis and Dead Like Me and movies like Shadow of Doubt.
That's a good point.

Presenting the thing that I do best first -- whether it's not quite right for the part or not, as long as it's compelling. Then, when they ask me to do it the traditional way, I have that ready too. At the very least, they'll know you're versatile and interesting!
