James Bond Meets Tennessee Williams
"I encountered Tennessee Williams through The Red Devil Battery Sign. I was playing a small role and then understudying one of the principals.
And I did, and I got the part. And he sent me a wonderful telegram and it said "Thank God for you my dear boy. Love, Tennessee Williams." (A note) which I have not thrown away."

The fellow I was understudying was having difficulty and they said (to me) "would you come around to Tennessee's apartment tonight?" I said "sure." You just know when certain opportunities arise. You just know that this is the moment and you just give it your all. |
