An Actor's Journey

What does it mean to be an actor? How do actors do what they do? How do they deal with the frustrations and rejections? This is the story of my personal experiences in Los Angeles. Along the way I'll share what I've learned.

A Fun and Filling Evening

GroundlingsMy wife and I recently spent an evening on Melrose Avenue in LA. We had reservations to see the sold-out show at The Groundlings theatre. The show was called Closer Than They Appear and as per usual, the name of the show had nothing to do with the improv content. I've been to the theatre in the past and this show didn't disappoint. The Groundlings continues to boast one of the most talented group of actors/comedians in the area. If you have the time and want to laugh for two hours for $20 a ticket, check out the show. You won't regret it.

As a sidenote, we had a great pizza dinner at Albano's Brooklyn Pizzeria (just a couple blocks east of the theatre). The pizza was huge and amazing. It was the closest thing we've found to real east coast pizza since we've been out here on the left coast. It was so good that we've already brought our daughter with us for a return visit. Come to think of it, if you end up going, please give me a call so I can ask you to buy an extra pizza to bring back for us!
